Unfortunately, I've had to can this trip to Spain due to events beyond my control. However, I've left this page up so you can see what I did find out out.
I'm looking at doing a pilgramage to Santiago de Compostela in the Northern Spanish region of Galicia. These are but some of the resources and things I've found out about the pilgramage. Although there are several routes for the pilgramage, we'll most likely take the Camino Ingles - aka the English Route.
During my four-week trip through Spain in 2004, I relied heavily
on the Spain
guide book by Lonely Planet which
has since been updated to the one displayed on the right. The
Lonely Planet is an excellent resource covering the complete
country with plenty of useful, practical information and handy
hints with a bit of history thrown in for good measure.
I've not read these books but they might be worth reading before or during the trip.
The Confraternity of St James - extensive information about the pilgramage and routes to Santiago. Includes excellent history of the pilgramage and extensive practical information.
Routes to Santiago - published by the Confraternity of St James, the useful information includes details on the length, terrain and where to stop and stay.
