This weekend we will be going to the Christmas Market in Strasbourg. As one of the oldest Christmas markets - dating from 1570 - the Strasbourg Christmas market is also one of the largest in France and centred around its famous Gothic Cathedral.
We'll be arriving in Strasbourg by train from Zürich. Regular trains from Basel to Strasbourg and Basel is under an hour from Zürich. We plan to arrive in Strasbourg in time for lunch before some shopping and depart late afternoon / early evening. A same day return ticket from Zürich to Strasbourg cost us 67CHF with a half-fare card.
