SKYCITY Grand Hotel (90 Federal Street, Auckland) - The SKYCITY Grand Hotel is my regular hotel in Auckland and has been for a number of years. Rooms are spacious, service consistently good, good business facilities and recently revamped dining choices in Japanese-style MASU and the contempory The Grill by Sean Connelly - the latter of which does a good line of New Zealand wines. Directly opposite Sky Tower is hugely central and the Auckland CBD couldn't be more accessible.
The Langham (83 Symonds Street, Grafton, Auckland 1010) - Probably one of the biggest names in the hotel industry, The Langham is firmly at the top end of Auckland accomodation. Service is always top quality and the hotel bar sports a good selection of New Zealand wines. Rooms are spacious and breakfast quite respectable.
Hotel DeBrett (2 High Street, Auckland 1010) - One of the best hotels kicking around Auckland , Hotel DeBrett is fully decked out in the Art Deco style and limited to 25 individually decorated rooms. A matter of minutes from the central Queen Street, Hotel DeBrett also boasts an award winning restaurant for which reservations are absolutely essential. Breakfast selection is pretty good quality with a selection of continental and cooked. Auckland CBD is easily accessible.
SKYCITY Hotel (Sky Tower, Cnr Victoria and Federal Streets, Auckland, New Zealand) - Part of the Sky Tower complex, SKYCITY Hotel couldn't be more central. Firmly more mid-range than my other recommendations on this page - the SKYCITY Hotel is no worse off for it with access to all the facilities of Sky Tower and the dining options of Auckland CBD the SKYCITY Hotel offers excellent value for money.
