Rome - Castel Sant'Angelo by Mark Sukhija

Rome - Castel Sant'Angelo

Rome, like much of Italy is packed full of history. The Castel Sant'Angelo is not exception. Built originally as a Mausoleum for the Emperor Hadrian, the Castel Sant'Angelo later served as protection for the Popes from marauding forces that threatened their safety. The connecting wall between St Peters Basilica and the Castel still exists.
