The Grossmünster, with its distinctive Romanesque towers, is one of the most identifiable features of Zürich - and one of the best places to see it is from the Lindenhof, site of the original Roman fort in what was once known as Turicum.
Grossmünster was once the centre of the Reformation in Switzerland and, while it remains a popular place for weddings amongst some of the elite, it is now in the middle of (but not the centre of!) Zürich nightlife with the Niederdorf on one side and the more Bohemian Oberdorf on the other.
